April 6, 2026: Costume, Heart, Emperor

Here is today’s prompt:

Today’s Prompt

Write a persona poem exploring the concepts Costume, Heart, and Emperor.

NB: the text on the Persona Poem card is Very Wrong!!!! A persona poem is a poem written from the vantage of someone other than yourself.

Does the emperor have a new costume? What is the heart beating underneath it? Of course, all personas are costumes (in a way), so the pairing of this form and these cards is both obvious… and ripe for surprise.
